		UPDATED: 10/2/2002 Welcome to the UCLA FORTE Study Website. The FORTE Study, which stands for "Feasibility Of Retinoid Therapy for Emphysema" is a multi-center clinical trial sponsored by the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute of the National Institutes of Health. This study will test special forms of Vitamin-A, called retinoids, to determine if they can be used to safely regrow damaged lung tissue in patients with emphysema. Drs. Michael D. Roth and Jenny T.
